Hi, I’m Ackelia and in a former life, I worked as a Biological Scientist. I spent my days in a lab conducting experiments and analysing data.

As a copywriter and former scientist, I prioritise thorough research. I begin every project with an in-depth analysis of your business and target audience, which helps me create the copy that effectively speaks to your ideal customer.

Thanks to my two science degrees, I’ve had a LOT of practice distilling complex information into more easily digestible content. Once I've done my research, I'll make sure your target audience understands the important details, regardless of your industry.

My journey to copywriting has been anything but linear.

I’m originally from the Caribbean, born in Jamaica and raised in Turks and Caicos, and one of my biggest goals in life was to become a writer.

I loved writing short stories and expressing my creativity through the written word. I enjoyed reading and hearing the unique stories of people around me and dreamed of helping people tell their stories as well.

But for a long time, I had convinced myself that I couldn’t possibly create a career as a writer.

So, I earned my Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences and a Master’s in Neuroscience, with the goal of becoming a Research Scientist. And while I enjoyed many aspects of my studies and my job as a scientist, I often felt it wasn’t quite the right fit for me and the life I wanted to live.

Now, as a copywriter, I enjoy a more flexible lifestyle. 

I combine my problem-solving and research skills with my lifelong passion for storytelling to help businesses communicate more effectively.
